An Incredible Ghostly Love Story

"Hereafter"

The Best Ghost/Love Story I've read so Far.

When I picked up "Hereafter", I was expecting a cheesy novel about girl-can't-have-boy-because-he-can't-see-her-or-some-crap-and-she's-miserable-the-end.

BUT IT WASN'T LIKE THAT!

First, let me say that Tara Hudson did a marvelous job creating her Heroine. Amelia wasn't the Mary Sue-woe-is-me type of girl. She stuck with what she knew and refused to give up what she wanted! Amelia wasn't too head strong and seemed to ask all the right questions.

In the beginning of "Hereafter", Amelia is trying to figure out who she was, why she even still exists, and how to pass the time in the lonely existence of the undead.

And then her world is flipped inside out and upside down. Joshua is freaking adorable! He is the type of guy who doesn't give a crap what other people thinks, (which is sort of an important trait for someone who sees ghosts.) Theirs is a love seemingly impossible to really even exist. An overarching theme is "How will they ever really be together?"

BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

Other than trying to find a way to be together that doesn't involve a dead body, Joshua and Amelia face ancient covens hellbent on sending ghosts back to, well, the ghost equivalent to hell, and other ghosts hellbent on getting out of there. And don't forget the secretive and mysterious deities who seem to have their own agenda that probably won't bode favorably for neither Amelia, nor Joshua.

If you love ghost and love stories, pick this one up. Like right now.

There's a continuation to "Hereafter" with, "Arise", so I'll let you know how that one turns out soon!

Until then,
Peace&Love :)

Enshadowed by Kelly Creagh

Hey there! Fire, here, with my review of:

As a sequel to the astounding novel Nevermore, I just HAD to read Enshadowed. It basically starts off precisely after Nevermore ends, with Isobel realizing that Varen isn’t “at home” with her. This book starts off a little slow because Isobel is trying to adjust and deal with what is going on and there isn’t much “Isobel and Varen” time.

The suspense, however, was killer! I hung on to every word throughout the book! I was slightly disappointed to find that the overall structure was very close to Nevermore’s and held very little of its own content, leaving us in another heart wrenching predicament. Many other reviews state that they felt like this book was unnecessary for readers to know what’s going on but I feel like this book was an important step in the Isobel/Varen relationship. Enshadowed also seems to show more into the depths of Varen’s soul than we saw in Nevermore.

It’s true that if you wanna save time, you can read the last few chapters of Enshadowed and know everything you need to know for the third book currently in progress of being written, but Kelly’s poetic similarities in language to Edgar Allan Poe’s writing style never fails to entice me. She spins a world of fantastical imagination that has me coming back for more. So yes, I definitely suggest that any fan of Nevermore read Enshadowed! And to keep an open mind at the end of the book, because it’s not over! The conclusions on its way and I think that it will make up for all the waiting!
