Enshadowed by Kelly Creagh

Hey there! Fire, here, with my review of:

As a sequel to the astounding novel Nevermore, I just HAD to read Enshadowed. It basically starts off precisely after Nevermore ends, with Isobel realizing that Varen isn’t “at home” with her. This book starts off a little slow because Isobel is trying to adjust and deal with what is going on and there isn’t much “Isobel and Varen” time.

The suspense, however, was killer! I hung on to every word throughout the book! I was slightly disappointed to find that the overall structure was very close to Nevermore’s and held very little of its own content, leaving us in another heart wrenching predicament. Many other reviews state that they felt like this book was unnecessary for readers to know what’s going on but I feel like this book was an important step in the Isobel/Varen relationship. Enshadowed also seems to show more into the depths of Varen’s soul than we saw in Nevermore.

It’s true that if you wanna save time, you can read the last few chapters of Enshadowed and know everything you need to know for the third book currently in progress of being written, but Kelly’s poetic similarities in language to Edgar Allan Poe’s writing style never fails to entice me. She spins a world of fantastical imagination that has me coming back for more. So yes, I definitely suggest that any fan of Nevermore read Enshadowed! And to keep an open mind at the end of the book, because it’s not over! The conclusions on its way and I think that it will make up for all the waiting!
